Abstract
Earthfill dam is a construction that requires control of various aspects with predetermined time, cost and quality limits. The success of a construction can be assessed if the work is effective in time, efficient in the use of costs and meets quality standards. Quality control is carried out by taking into account technical specifications in order to obtain maximum development benefits. Given the importance of this, it is necessary to control in order to obtain the quality of the dam in accordance with the desired function and planning. Soil investigation and trial embankment on dam embankment work, aims to determine the strength of the
construction structure based on technical specifications. Investigation of the embankment soil material is carried out based on physical testing in the laboratory and field property tests, while the trial embankment method is carried out using variations in the number of passing compaction with certain compactor tools.
Based on the analysis that has been carried out, the ideal number of compaction passes for the trial embankment is to use eight (8) passes with a density degree test result of 96.71%, insitu permeability of 4.79 x 10-6 cm/sec, sheep foot roller productivity of 118 .27 m3/hour and the total price of compaction work is IDR 6,376,861,888.67.
